This set of scholarships included the first ever E.
Eugene Schultz, Jr. PhD Memorial Scholarship, established in memory of a luminary in the Information Security field and a dedicated educator, Eugene Schultz (1946-2011). This year marks the first grant given in memory of ISSA member and frequent conference speaker, Gene Schultz, who passed away last year. The award was announced at the 2012 RSA Conference as a part of the ISSA meeting held there. Sandy Lambert, ISSAEF Board Chair, and Kevin Richards, President of ISSA, presented a plaque commemorating the event to Gene's wife, Cathy, at the ceremony.

The Foundation intends to offer a recurring scholarship in his name in honor of his many years contributing to the education of tomorrow's information security professionals. If you would like to assist, please see the links on our Donate page. See the memorial to Gene on the Media page.
In addition, we have a number of new programs underway through the Foundation.
First, we have established a mechanism through which you can make a tax-exempt donation directly through our website using PayPal. See the Donate tab. Please donate now to assist in this effort.
Second, we are now partnering with our original sponsor, the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) to support these efforts. They are making the donation option available to their members during the registration process. And ISSA members are being kept informed on our activities.
Third, we are partnering with the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., (ISC)², to support their Safe and Secure student cyber safety awareness and training campaign. Check it out on the (ISC)² website.
